Today I purchased SWOON's recent book of her work and thoughts. I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it for the last 2 hours.
"When I first began to do street work, part of my impulse had to do with those things that are meant to disappear and the ability to just let things go. I use recycled newsprint that I order in 90-pound rolls. It’s extremely thin and is one of my favorite papers to use because of the way it decays. It yellows. It cracks. It has this whole life cycle that I really like.”

Chain Reaction! Yes! Some good times from my own high school days
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I never knew very much about street art but I've always wanted to, the piece you stumbled across in San Francisco is really cool, I'll definitely look into learning more about SWOON
I feel like I never properly visited San Francisco. Unfortunately, everytime I go, I'm with boring people who never want to do anything. haha you're probably thinking I need to find better travel buddies in California and I totally agree. I'm just going to go on my own for a week and get myself lost
the last time i visited SF was about a month ago, i went with my best friend and her boyfriend who im also really good friends with. we stayed with my (other) best friend who lives near SFSU. since my friend we were staying with had finals and my other friends were being lovebirds in the city i decided to spend the weekend wandering, exploring and finding by myself and I have to say it was my best trip yet.
ReplyDeleteawesome, I can't wait until to visit SF when I come back to the States
